PETG is the most commonly used plastic in the world and it is one of the easiest to recycle, but it isn't biodegradable. The added (G) glycol prevents the material from crystallizing and becoming breakable making it an excellent material for 3d printing. PETG (also called co-polyester) is a modified version of PET. Our proprietary bio-additive simply provides a food source for the bacteria living in those environments, without altering the characteristics of the base material. Using the same bio-additive technology as our Enviro™ ABS, 3D Printlife's BioPETG™ is specially formulated to be consumed by bacteria once it enters a landfill to energy facility or a commercial compost.
